Today, when you pick up a box of EcoBullet 9mm, clean means:
Lead-free primer
Targets one of the dirtiest parts of a traditional cartridge: the primer compound that burns right under your nose when you shoot.
Less airborne lead compared to conventional lead-based primers, especially relevant for indoor ranges.
Recycled brass cases
Cases are sourced from recycled brass instead of always using newly produced material. Always tested and without performance compromise.
Keeps quality brass in use and reduces the need for fresh resource extraction.
Straight talk about our footprint
Even though we offset the long-term impact, our powder still emits CO₂ while burning.
Our bullets and cases are still made of metal.
Our current packaging still includes plastic elements.
Saying that out loud is part of being clean, too.
We don’t want to just say “eco-friendly” and leave it at that. Here’s the roadmap we’re actively working on:
Plastic-free packaging
We’re testing packaging options that remove remaining plastic components and move entirely to recyclable, fiber-based materials - without compromising transport safety and protection for the ammo.
CO₂ accounting and offsets
We claim “CO₂-neutral,” but we are also running a real system:
Estimating emissions per production batch
Choosing reputable offset projects
Buying CO₂-Certificates to offset every single round, we produce
Next step:
Publishing certificate IDs so you can see what we’re actually funding
Material and process improvements
As we grow, we’ll explore cleaner processes and components that keep performance high while pushing impact down - and we’ll be honest about trade-offs.
Until each step is fundamental and implemented, we’ll treat it as “in progress”, not as a finished promise.
A lot of “green” products fail the sniff test because details are vague. We hear that, and we agree.
So on this page, and across our site, we’ll always keep two lists:
What EcoBullet is today
9mm Luger range ammo
Lead-free primer
Recycled brass cases
Conventional packaging (plastic-free packaging in development)
What EcoBullet is not yet
Not fully plastic-free in all packaging
Not fully CO₂-neutral with a published offset registry
Not free from all environmental impact - and we won’t pretend otherwise
If you ever see a claim on our site that doesn’t match what we’ve written here, call us out. That’s how we stay honest.
If you’re curious whether “cleaner ammo” actually feels any different in your training:
Grab a Test Pack and compare EcoBullet against your regular-range load.
Pay attention to how your gun runs, how the air feels during a long indoor session, and how it aligns with your own values.
